cycling: Dubai Tour #3: Marcel Kittel for the second time

February 7rd 2014 by the editorial office

The third stage from Dubai to Hatta also ended in a mass sprint. And that despite the fact that there were a few climbs to be overcome on the way. For some sprinters, however, these represented a solvable problem. At the end of the race, the picture was similar to that of the day before.

Marcel Kittel (Giant-Shimano) wins his second consecutive stage. This time he referred the Spaniard Juan Jose Lobato (Movistar) and the Slovak Peter Sagan (Cannondale) on the places.

"It was really difficult. But I had enough strength to get over the climbs”, so Kittel at the finish. This time, however, the man from Arnstadt was not able to benefit from the perfect work of his teammates. On the contrary: In the final, only the South African Reinardt Janse van Rensburg was at his side.

The US-American continues to lead the overall standings before the final stage Taylor Phinney (BMC), who can hardly be denied overall victory.
