Since the beginning of the year, Team Stuttgart has been looked after by Dennis Sandig and his IQ Athletik team. Yesterday, the first riders were guests in Frankfurt for bike fitting and performance testing. Sandig is a sports scientist and A-licensed trainer from the Federation of German Cyclists. At the University of Würzburg he published important discussion and research contributions. In these, he questions established methods and analyzes new approaches to performance diagnostics and performance improvement. In addition, Sandig was the sporting director of the Nürnberger team for many years and currently looks after athletes such as Björn Thurau (Europcar), Ralf Matzka (NetApp-Endura), Grischa Janoschke (Vorarlberg) and Maximilian Levy (Team Erdgas).
We would also like to use Sandig's experience in the team to be able to offer our athletes the best possible conditions for practicing a clean sport. The Stuttgart team stands for a clean sport and the training control and the collection of medical data is an important prerequisite.
That was the first priority of the diagnostics in Frankfurt iQ kinetikFIT. The new Simplon nexio-Frames have an aerodynamic shape and race-optimized geometry. So it makes sense to give our boys the best possible Power transmission, economical pedaling and individually adjustable under aerodynamic aspects. With the help of measuring points glued to the joints, the riders repeatedly had to get on the bike in front of the video camera. In the second step they rode on one Cycle 2ergometer a spiroergometry and lactate conduction test.
According to Sandig, everyone is on track for the first races. In an intensive evaluation discussion, the strengths and weaknesses were discussed individually. From now on, our drivers will use the determined values to train according to plans specially tailored to them. Some of them have decided to train in Mallorca at the weekend. Meanwhile, Tino and Martin are starting the Berlin 6-day race with their respective partners.
