It looks as if Leif Lampater and Jasper de Buyst could achieve a start-finish victory at the 6-day race in Berlin: Even after the fifth night, the German-Belgian duo leads the overall rankings, despite the second-placed Kenny de Ketele and Andreas Müller are tied again, Lampater and De Buyst have now been able to build up a lead of 253 points on 53 points. Third are still Theo Reinhardt and Robert Bartko, who are already one lap behind with 186 points.

It was already decided on the “techem – European Derny Cup”, which the top eight teams in the overall standings decided among themselves. After the overall leaders Lampater and De Buyst with pacemaker Peter Bäuerlein watched the race from behind for a long time, they launched the decisive attack in the finale, in which Lampater ultimately prevailed in a tough fight against Andreas Müller's partner Kenny de Ketele. Yoeri Havik and Vojtech Hacecki finished third.

The Spanish Vice World Champion David Muntaner meanwhile had to give up the race. After his fall on the second day of the Berlin six-day race, a fracture of the temporomandibular joint was diagnosed, which requires surgery. His partner Albert Torres only competes in all individual competitions. "It's a shame David had to give up. After world champion Morgan Kneisky had to pull out due to injury, Muntaner and Torres were our star pairing as vice world champions. I wish him all the best on this journey.", said the sporting director of the Berlin Sixdays, Dieter Stein.

Franco Marvulli, who will be giving up his bike after the Berlin six-day race, said farewell to his racing colleagues with a guard of honor today. In Copenhagen, the 35-year-old will no longer be at the start. The Swiss became known at the side of the six-day legend Bruno Risi, with whom he was able to win numerous races. Overall, Marvulli can look back on well over 100 six-day starts.

Tomorrow's last run of the "Esso Stayers World Cup" promises to be exciting. After the fifth run, the first four teams are only two points apart. After his race victory, local hero Florian Fernow with pacemaker Peter Bäuerlein now leads the overall standings again with 13 points ahead of Swiss Mario Birrer with pacemaker Helmut Baur with a lead of one point. Behind them, with 15 points each, are Robert Retschke with pacemaker Karsten Podlesch and Dutchman Patrick Kos with father René as pacemaker in third and fourth place.

The final of the sprinters can also be eagerly awaited tomorrow. Before the last day of competition, Robert Förstemann and Maximilian Levy are tied in the overall standings with 72 points each. Erik Balzer, on the other hand, seems to have secured his third place with 53 points.
