cycling: André Greipel is planning a double start in the Giro and Tour

10 December 2013 by the editorial office

gripel

André Greipel wants to start in both the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France next year. This was the reigning German champions opposite Het Nieuwsblad famous. “I'm not afraid of back-to-back Grand Tours. I can handle the stress of these tours quite well.", said the native of Rostock.

Greipel is currently preparing for the season with his Lotto-Belisol team in Mallorca. The planned start of the Tour of Italy will be the first in four years. So far, his palmarès has two stage wins in two participations in Italy. In order to be able to add to these successes, he will compete in less demanding races in the spring. Participation in the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix, like this year, is not planned. "I think I'll lighten my spring program a little", according to Greipel, who also remarked: "But I still dream of a classic victory, for example at Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne or Gent-Wevelgem."
