New sponsors, new athletes and new approaches for 2014: The Scott-Odlo MTB Racing Team presents its future concept.
In recent years, the Scott-Swisspower MTB Racing Team has been one of the strongest teams on the World Cup circuit. In addition to national championships, they managed to win several overall World Cup victories and world championships. However, this successful cooperation is now coming to an end.
With Odlo as the new title sponsor of the team now named Scott-Odlo MTB Racing Team, team boss Thomas Frischknecht found more than just a replacement. “We are excited about this strong partnership that will see us through to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Odlo is a big brand. My history with them goes back to 1994.”, says Frischknecht.
Nino Schurter, reigning XC World Champion, will continue to be the boss of the peloton and the face of the team. He will continue to be on the hunt for World Cup wins.
This is a strong sign from Odlo itself and shows their great commitment to the bike sector. CEO Jonas Ottosson says: “We are excited to embark on this inspiring and successful partnership that offers mutual benefits for both of us. We are passionate about everything we do, which is how the Scott-Odlo MTB Racing Team was born. Both parties can only be truly competitive if we constantly do our best and strive to always be one step ahead. With this commitment, we will not only underline our competence as a manufacturer of premium sportswear. This sponsorship also gives us the opportunity to emphasize a close collaboration with the professionals in the development of outstanding products.”
In addition to Schurter, the team was also able to secure two strong newcomers. Junior driver Manuel Fasnacht and Jenny Rissveds, the 19-year-old Swedish champion, join the team. Her two XCE World Cup victories and the victory at the XCE European Championship are more than good reasons "to welcome you on board", said team manager Frischknecht.
"I grew up with my brother and his friends as the only girl. It's no problem being the only girl on a men's team. For further development I would like to learn from the best. That's why I'm more than happy with the new team.", adds Rissveds. The other drivers of the team are Florian Vogel, Marcel Wildhaber, Andri Frischknecht and Robin Gemperle.
