After the season is before the season. Many athletes have already described their annual plan like this or something similar. While some athletes in this country are still taking a well-deserved break, others are already starting to prepare for the coming year. In Australia, on the other hand, the season is currently at its first peak. At the national championships, in which non-Australians were also allowed to take part, two well-known middle-distance athletes, New Zealander Terenzo Bozzone and Australian Melissa Hauschildt, prevailed.

In Mandurah, Bozzone was in the limelight right from the start. He got out of the water with the fastest swimmers and managed to secure his good starting position for the run on the bike. As expected, the competition couldn't oppose him here. In the end he won ahead of the two Australians Tim Berkel and Sam Appleton.

In the women's category, Hauschildt was also the big favorite. Unlike Bozzone, she laid the foundation for her victory on the bike. After the swim, she was still behind the leading athletes, but she was gradually closing the gap. At the final half marathon, she was in the best of moods and relegated Annabel Luxford and Radka Vodickova to second place.
