The American Chris Horner celebrated his greatest career success this year with the overall victory at the Vuelta a Espana. So far, however, this win has not brought him a new contract for the coming season. As he announced today via Twitter, he will not start for the RadioShack Leopard successor Trek in the coming year.
Thanks to the staff, riders, and sponsors at @RSLT for a great four years. I'll be going somewhere else for 2014.

It had previously been announced that Horner's agent Michael Rutherford was on the lookout for possible teams for 2014. Among other things, he seems to have asked Europcar. The French team is aiming for promotion to the WorldTour and plans to add more riders on board. However, team manager Jean-René Bernaudeau made it clear that an annual salary of 750 euros was too much for Horner. It is still unclear whether and for which team Horner will drive in the coming months.
