cycling: Acquittal for Stefan Schumacher

29 October 2013 by Veit Hammer

schumacher

The Nürtingen professional cyclist Stefan Schumacher has won the fraud case brought against him before the Stuttgart Regional Court. A few months ago, Schumacher confessed to years of doping and thus initially nurtured the ground of his former team manager Hans-Michael Holczer, who accused him of being dishonest towards him during his time with Team Gerolsteiner. Holczer claimed that Schumacher stole three months' salary of almost 2008 euros in 150.000.

The public prosecutor had accused Schumacher as a result. However, the 16th Criminal Court has now found that Schumacher did not undoubtedly cheat Holczer. The accusation that the Nürtinger had a demonstrably doped athlete "unlawful financial advantage" surreptitiously, the criminal court did not uphold.
