Jasha Sütterlin (Thüringer Energie Team) was able to defend his national title this year in the fight against the clock in the U23 class. In addition to his third place in his special discipline at the European Championships and the surprising third place in the Bayern Rundfahrt time trial, the 20-year-old now has a contract with the Spanish WorldTour racing team Movistar. A press release from Alejandro Valverde's team states that "one of the most promising time trialists on the international scene and a talented sprinter" was committed to Sütterlin. According to unconfirmed information, Sütterlin will receive a two-year contract.
