Next year the Swiss Epic will take place for the first time. The marathon race, based on the legendary Cape Epic, will take teams of two through the Swiss mountains from September 15-20, 2014. Wallis will be the starting point for the premiere. With Verbier, Leukerbad, Grächen and Zermatt, some of the most beautiful bike regions in Switzerland are stage locations of the Swiss Epic.
During a test ride, more than 80 mountain bikers were able to convince themselves of the format of the Swiss Epic and the route.
Nino Schurter, reigning world champion in cross country, is convinced of the race format and is looking forward to his participation in 2014: “At Perskindol Swiss Epic, I like the attractive route as well as the fact that the team spirit counts. In addition, the mountain bike country of Switzerland is missing a world-class race – that will certainly change soon with Perskindol Swiss Epic.”
