DT Swiss has revised its hub line-up for this season and optimized it for the 11-speed trend. While it was enough to change the freewheel on other wheels in the in-house product range, the models of the "DiCut"series to be completely revised. The reason for this was the special hub flange and the associated spoke holder. All previous models in this series ran the risk of being affected by the wider cassettes.

The "DiCut"series, which is also used by the drivers of the ProConti team IAM, is located at the upper end of the Swiss model range. It is characterized by its flange in the shape of a scallop and the spokes inserted at the head. As a result, both the rigidity and the aerodynamics can be increased. There are also no exposed nipples in the area of the rims. Our test wheelset, the "RRC 46 DiCut C" also impresses with its color scheme. The white spokes stylishly counteract the black and red rims and hubs and make the wheelset look fast right from the start.

That the "RRC 46 DiCut C" not only looks fast, but is also fast, it proves quite suddenly in action. Thanks to the fine teeth of the RWS ratchet in the rear wheel hub, you can quickly find the right step. Added to this is the low weight. The front wheel weighs just 650 grams and the rear wheel 780 grams. This makes the set a lot lighter than models from its direct competitors and it can also be accelerated well on the mountain. The shape and height of the rims mean that the wheelset invites you to ride fast in moderate wind conditions. In crosswinds, however, you have to countersteer relatively strongly.

Regardless of the external parameters, the rolling behavior leaves little room for doubt. They react stiffly and directly to changes in tempo. You hardly notice that you are on wired tires. Only the comfort leaves something to be desired here, because due to the properties mentioned, they are conductive "RRC 46 DiCut C" the unevenness of the road continues relatively unfiltered. The flanks are worked in such a way that they only heat up slowly, even under constant stress. As a result, it takes some time until the wheelset is broken in and the ride can be dosed with good grip. However, once you have passed this point, then the "RRC 46 DiCut C" not only a visual eye-catcher, but also an invitation to "racing".
